Recording Satisfaction of Mortgage/Charge Payments at the CRO
When an Irish registered company has either fully or partly paid off a mortgage or charge, it is vital to record this at the Companies Registration Office (CRO). This ensures that external third parties, such as potential investors, creditors, other lenders, and credit rating agencies, are made aware of the updated financial status.
It is important not to assume that the mortgagor or charge holder (the ‘chargee’) will automatically handle this process once they have been paid.
Therefore, the company should file the requisite Form C6 or C7 to update the CRO records as soon as possible.
CFI have prepared a Factsheet on this important topic and that is available by clicking HERE.
